What is a mole and why do chemists prefer counting particles in moles instead of individual numbers?

A mole represents 6.022 ?- 10²³ particles (Avogadro's number). Atoms and molecules are extremely tiny, so counting them individually is impractical. Using moles makes chemical calculations manageable.
