You drive 30 km at 60 km/h and another 30 km at 30 km/h. Is your average speed 45 km/h?

Nope. Average speed = total distance / total time = 60 km ÷ [(30/60)+(30/30)] = 40 km/h. Average speed ≠ simple mean when speeds differ.
