A runner covers 100 m east, then 100 m west in 20 sec total. What’s their average velocity?
Answers (1)
Displacement = 0, so average velocity = 0. But average speed = total distance ÷ time = 200 ÷ 20 = 10 m/s. Speed ≠ velocity!
