If I push a wall with all my strength and it doesn't move, am I doing work?

In physics, work = force ?- displacement. If the wall doesn't move, displacement = 0, so work = 0 — even though you feel tired because energy is spent internally by your muscles, but no “mechanical work” is done on the wall.
